Last day of mixing: on to the mastering stage

Last Tuesday saw the final day of mixing for our debut album, with Alain Celestine, at Celestine Records.

Thank you, Alain, for your patience, your advice, your ideas, your willingness to listen – and for all those moments of camaraderie. This album has brought us a wonderful encounter, something that wasn’t on the agenda but which will stay with us.

Thanks also to Olivier Pelfigues, who popped in to see us along the way: his comments on the mixes were invaluable to us. Sometimes you need an outside ear to hear what you’ve stopped hearing yourself.

Time to listen, then on to mastering

Now comes the time for a quiet, objective listen, before sending the tracks off for mastering – in Boston, at New Alliance East.

This is the final stage before the album truly comes into being.
