Funding for the third album: 60 per cent reached with three weeks to go

By mid-November 2023, the crowdfunding campaign for TidyMess’s third album had reached 60 per cent of its target, with around twenty days to go until it closed.

Around a hundred backers

Nearly a hundred people had already taken part. The duo thanked them by name, one by one, throughout the campaign - family, friends, musicians, and audience members they’d met at gigs. It is this very mechanism - word of mouth amongst loved ones - that makes crowdfunding successful: rarely a single large donor, almost always many small ones.

What happened next

Five days before the end, the fundraising total had passed the 95 per cent mark, before closing on 30 November.

The album Yin Yang was released on 3 October 2025.
