TidyMess launches a crowdfunding campaign for its third album
On , TidyMess launched a crowdfunding campaign to record its next album, supported by the charity Sans Contrefa’sons.
How it worked
Contributions were open until 30 November 2023, a period of nearly two months. The aim was to fund a studio recording - studio time, equipment, mixing and mastering - in exchange for rewards, including pre-orders of the album.
This is a funding method the duo were already familiar with: their first album, De Concert (2019), had also been funded by their listeners.
What the campaign achieved
It was a success. Nearly a hundred people contributed, and the album Yin Yang - twelve tracks, forty-five minutes - was released on 3 October 2025, exactly two years to the day after the fundraising campaign was launched.
The campaign unfolded in three stages: 60 per cent by mid-November, 95 per cent five days before the end, then the campaign closed on 30 November.
